Fiat is to supply Vauxhall/Opel with a vehicle to replace the Vauxhall Combo which reaches the end of its life cycle at the end of this year. The new vehicle which is to be based on the same platform as the Fiat Doblo will be built at the Tofas plant in Bursa, Turkey where the Fiat Doblo is manufactured.
It is thought Vauxhall/Opel will keep the Combo name which is expected to include a number of derivatives, including Cargo Vans, Passenger Vehicles and Chassis Cabs. The Vauxhall/Opel design team in Rüsselsheim, Germany is actively involved in the development of the new model.
